Good information.
No guessing.
A changing table shouldn’t be a pleasant surprise. It should be something you can plan around.
Alongside helps you find cafés and casual restaurants across Ontario, with the details that make going out with a baby a little easier. Our location catalogue spans Ontario. Evidence for baby facilities is still uneven, and every venue shows what we know and what remains unknown.
Here’s what our labels mean
- Directly verified
- A venue representative or an in-person visit has confirmed specific facilities. The confirmation date and method must be recorded. No places in this preview have this label yet.
- Venue-published
- The venue describes a facility on its own website. We link to it and show when we reviewed the page. It is not a staff conversation or an independent inspection.
- Venue listing
- A venue-hosted page, such as an event rental listing, describes the facility. Normal café hours and access may differ, so we call out those limits.
- Parent-reported
- A public community discussion describes a facility. This is a useful lead, but we haven’t confirmed it with the venue. A post date is not necessarily a visit date.
- Community-mapped
- An OpenStreetMap contributor has explicitly tagged a facility at this venue. We link the map record and show any known limitations. This is not staff confirmation; the date of the actual observation may be unknown.
- Facilities unconfirmed
- We have a location but no current evidence for baby facilities. These places appear in a separate section and never qualify for a facility filter.
Details stay specific
A ramp at the front door doesn’t tell us whether a stroller can reach the washroom. A microwave for baby food doesn’t mean there’s a bottle warmer. One branch’s facilities don’t tell us about another branch. We preserve those distinctions.
Fresh enough to be useful
Details reviewed more than 180 days ago, or marked as disputed, stop qualifying for filters until they are rechecked. A page review does not prove a recent visit, and a live venue check is always the stronger evidence.
Opening hours
Opening status is calculated from listed hours in the venue’s local time zone. “Opening soon” and “Closing soon” mean within 30 minutes. Hours have their own source and review or import date, separate from baby-facility evidence. Community map edits do not prove a recent visit.
We show regular weekly hours where the schedule can be interpreted reliably. Missing, variable or outdated schedules stay unconfirmed. On holidays, regular hours may not apply, so we flag the uncertainty. Unexpected closures can still happen.
What comes next
Direct venue confirmations and deeper coverage beyond Toronto. We’re exploring a simple staff verification process before adding automated outreach. There are no paid rankings or sponsored recommendations in this preview.
Data sources and attribution
Location and facility data include © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Ontario extracts are supplied by Geofabrik. Map tags remain community reports, with no inferred facilities.
Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Toronto: neighbourhoods, municipal address points and DineSafe establishment records. DineSafe is used to identify venues; an inspection is not a baby-facility endorsement or a guarantee a venue is open.
Municipal labels use Ontario’s lower-tier and single-tier municipal boundary data, licensed under the Open Government Licence – Ontario.
Address search includes data adapted from Statistics Canada, National Address Register, June 2026, under the Statistics Canada Open Licence. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product. Address points can represent buildings or approximate street positions. New or incomplete addresses may not resolve.
Our machine-readable catalogue export is available from the catalogue download, with per-record sources. User searches, private address inputs and GPS positions are never part of this export.
